Introduction, Scope and Objectives of Programme
Communication is the fastest growing segment of the industry. It has experienced exponential growth over the last decade. Cellular phones have become a critical business tool and they are rapidly replacing outdated wire line systems in many developing countries. The explosive growth of Communication Systems suggests a bright future for Communication Engineering field. This programme is an advanced level course in the field of Communication Engineering offering a specialization in terms of technology and applications to fulfil the requirements of the industry.

Department Strengths
The department has sufficient number of faculties with Ph.D. and Post-graduate degrees in their respective fields from reputed national institutes such as IITs and NITs. We have also equipped our laboratories with Microwave benches, Antenna Trainer, GSM/CDMA Trainer, Mobile phone Trainer, Spectrum analyzer, Logic analyzer, Digital pattern generator, Digital Storage Oscilloscope. FPGA development Boards for different types of FPGAs with supporting development software like Xilinx ISE Foundation Series, Xilinx System Generator, Xilinx Chip Scope Pro, Altera Quartus Pro, DSP development boards (Analog Devices and Texas) with supporting software, Embedded System Development board, Server and latest Computer systems with LINUX/Windows Operating Systems.

Software
Matlab , AGILENT Genesis software for Communication engineering, Or-Cad, T-Spice, NG spice, Magic, Multisim for circuit design and simulation In addition open source and web edition of many software such as NS-2, OPNET etc. are frequently used in our labs.
