Profile

Dr. Pratik Shah is presently working as the Head of Aeronautical Department at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Technology, Vasad. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has over 26 years of teaching experience, over 6 years of research experience and 2 years of industrial experience. He has done Master in CAD/CAM from Gujarat University and Ph.D. from CHARUSAT. He has published around 28 research papers in various National/International Journals and Conference proceedings. He is also a reviewer in journals of international repute. He is actively guiding PG projects and has 3 research scholars pursuing Ph.D. under his guidance. He has been granted two patents for his inventions titled “Multicutter Groove Cutting Machine” and “Two-Piece Plus Type Cruci-trap Welded Joint (CTWJ)”.He is regularly invited to deliver expert talks at various universities. Mr. Shah is a member of various professional bodies like ISTE, IIW. His areas of interests are manufacturing, welding, and finite element analysis.

Current Activities:

Teaching at UG (Mechanical Engineering) PG (CAD/CAM.Working as Doctoral Progress Review committee member for Ph.D. students at various universities. Guiding Masters Dissertations (CAD/CAM)and 4 Ph.D. scholars.
