A descriptive study to assess knowledge regarding urinary tract infection among adolescent girls of selected secondary schools of Anand city with view to develop an information booklet :

A descriptive study was used for this study. Total of 300 students were selected based on non-probability sampling technique. Tool considered of two parts, socio demographic variable and self-structured questionnaire. A Self-structured Questionnaire was prepared on basis of definition of urinary tract infection, risk factor and causes of UTI’s, sign and symptoms, diagnosis, prevention, dietary pattern, treatment, hygiene on urinary tract infection.
Information booklet was prepared on prevention of urinary tract infection that included definition of urinary tract infection, risk of getting UTI’s, common sign and symptoms, when to seek help, treatment of UTI’s, home remedies, diet, how to maintain proper hygiene on urinary tract infection.
This study concluded that knowledge regarding urinary tract infection among adolescent girls of selected secondary schools of Anand city is moderate and after conducting this study there is need to improve the knowledge regarding urinary tract infection among adolescent girls.
