Information is an essential input to national development. The modern library has great responsibility in harnessing and utilization of information. The library and information centers strive for high quality of library services which emphasis the actual delivery of information rather than actual delivery of documents for meeting their generic as well as specific needs of the users. The central library is based on the objectives of the parent institute of SVIT.
The SVIT Library consists of a central library and 10 departmental libraries which collectively support the teaching, research and extension programs of the Institute. All students, faculty members of the institute are entitled to make use of the library facilities on taking library membership. The library, besides having a huge collection of books on engineering, science and humanities offers library services through its various divisions.
Library serves as a resource center and aims to develop a comprehensive collection of document’s useful for faculty and students of the institute and provides an efficient dissemination of knowledge.
Library aims to be best among engineering college libraries in the Gujarat state. Library intends to incorporate the latest technology and adopt user friendly approach towards students and faculty. Library intends to offer comprehensive services related to dissemination of Knowledge.

Our library is subjected to full automation. We are maintaining SOUL 2.0 network version library management software which is developed by INFLIBNET Centre, Ahmedabad. Through this software user can access Webopac and they can keep their house keeping operation up to date. All the systems are connected through LAN to access the database.

We have very high configuration IBM server containing 4TB hard disk and 5 GB RAM. This server is connected through LAN.
We have uploaded more than 2600 E-books, more than 10000 technical articles, digitalized university exam papers of last five years, PPTs of Engineering Miracles, PPTs of lighter moments, Informative Information, Photographs of different events of SVIT, PhD, ME thesis and so many valuable information is uploaded on this server.
“Books are for use and not for preservation”. With this dictum SVIT – Vasad College library functions. Hence the Open Access System is followed.
All new books are displayed on the new arrival rack. The list of new arrival books is also displayed in the library notice Board
Our library issuing mechanism is fully computerized. All the books are issued and returned through the library Management software with supported by Bar-Code technology.
Book Bank with a collection of 5000+ books is functioning for poor students on first come first serve basis.
