About IIP Cell :
Industrial growth plays a vital role in development and prosperity of the nation. Industries today look for technical man power, which is both creative and innovative. According to various surveys done by some private and public bodies in India, graduating engineers lack certain skills useful for employment in the industries. The technical education system must respond to rapidly changing technological needs of modern industries. In order to develop such skills it is important to reform the current educational system by linking Technical Education with Industry. Interaction between institute and industry is now widely recognized as an essential requirement to train and develop the right kind of technical man power necessary to sustain and promote industrial and economic growth. Industry Institute Partnership (IIP) Cell of SVIT, Vasad was established in the academic year 2011-12.
IIP Cell has signed an MOU with Gujarat Energy Research & Management Institute (GERMI) to carry out joint R&D and Consultancy work in the area of Non-Conventional Energy like Solar, Wind and Geothermal.
We regularly carry out activities under this cell at our institute. The activities carried out are, to organize workshops for students (UG and PG), to arrange industry visits for students and staff, to promote faculties and supporting staff for training at various industries. Introduction about the Enterprenur Development Cell.
In India a large number of technical institutions and institutions of higher learning have emerged since last decade, as a result of systematic and conscious intervention of the Government. If India were to assume leadership in industrial production of even a few items of sophisticated nature in the 21st century, it will be essential that a considerable cross section of science and technology community choose Entrepreneurship as their vocation rather than merely assuming supervisory/managerial positions in various enterprises. By opting Entrepreneurship as their careers, these persons would be able to influence decisions with regard to products and processes of their ventures. Thus, they would be able to participate directly in the economic development of the country. In addition, young technocrats are also looking out for opportunities to exploit their full potential by setting up their own ventures thus becoming "job generators" rather than "job seekers". Hence, there is need to promote Entrepreneurship amongst technology and management students.
With a view to encourage the students in technical institutions to consider self employment as a career option, an Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Technology (SVIT) has been established since April 2011 with grant-in-aid from All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The EDC also aims at providing training in entrepreneurship through modular courses and increase the relevance of management particularly in the non-corporate and under-managed sectors.
Vision:
To develop, inscribe and develop the entrepreneurship amongst young engineering students and to create successful Techno entrepreneurs.
Mission:
To foster entrepreneurial thinking, promote, facilitate the business knowledge. Develop aspiring entrepreneurs into motivated, ethical and dynamic business leaders.
Objectives:
- To create an environment for self-employment and entrepreneurship development through formal and non-formal training programs.
- To introduce the concept of entrepreneurship and Innovation start ups to the students of engineering and technology.
- To guide and counsel SCST students and help them to manage academic and individual problems of campus life efficiently.
- To utilize the infrastructure facilities and technically trained manpower for the development of non-corporate and unorganized sectors by organizing awareness camps on start up policies, funding, market inventories and potential incubate the enterpreneual traits amongst young emerging technocrats.
- To promote creating technical mass self employability and employment opportunities for the country.
