GNM referred as General Nursing and Midwifery deals with the education of nurses in general health care, nursing, and midwifery. This program will boost your career prospects. After completing this course, successful candidates may register themselves as registered nurse or midwife with the state nurse registration council. (GNC) Nursing is a profession within the Health Care Sector focused on the care of individuals, families and communities so they may attain maintain or recover optimal health and quality of life.
Nurses care for individuals of all ages and all cultural backgrounds who are healthy and ill in a holistic manner based on the individuals physical, emotional, psychological, intellectual, social and spiritual needs. The profession combines physical sciences, social science and technology in caring for those individuals.
The Council also recognizes that the nature of nursing is such that a substantial portion of learning of the study is acquired in clinical field of practice. It further recognized the interdependence of nursing to allied professions and occupations in prevention of diseases, promotion, maintenance and restoration of health.
The Council believes that it has a responsibility in helping the students to develop pride in their profession besides keeping them abreast with current knowledge and professional trends for a successful career ahead.
• 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually from any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government. However Science is preferable.
• 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council
• 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE board/State/Centre
• Registered ANM with pass mark.
• The entry qualification equivalency i.e., 12th standard will be obtained by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Institution, State Nursing Council will be responsible to ensure that the qualification and eligibility will be equivalent to what has been prescribed as above
a) For disabled candidates: 3% Disability reservation to be considered with a disability of locomotor to the tune of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity and other eligibility criteria with regard to age and qualification will be same as prescribed for each nursing programme. Note: A committee to be formed consisting of medical officer authorized by medical board of state government and a nursing expert in the panel which may decide whether the candidates have the disability of locomotor of 40% to 50%.
b) 5% of total marks is relaxed for SC/ST candidates
c) Any other reservation as per the State Govt.
Note: Reservation shall be applicable within the sanctioned number of the seats by INC and not above it.
3. Admission of students shall be once in a year.
4. Students shall be medically fit.
5. Minimum age for admission will be 17 years. (as on 31st December of that year) The upper age limit is 35 yrs. For ANM/ for LHV, there is no age bar.
• Students will wear prescribed uniform while on duty.
• The students shall undertake all type of duties of nursing in all shifts and have to follow the rules and orders of Principal, Tutors, Staff and the hospital authorities.
• Students must be neat, tidy and decent in their dress, avoiding expensive clothes and ornaments.
• Ragging is strictly forbidden and punishable.

B.Sc in Nursing is an undergraduate course that all medical aspirants can pursue in different B.Sc Nursing colleges in India. The course, in India, is offered as (4 year-8 Semester) undergraduate programme for all students who have cleared class 12th from the stream of science. The course can be availed at any recognized institute or University. In India, experts have come together and formed a curriculum that is followed across India in all government and private institutions offering the B.Sc Nursing course. The course has been designed to train and qualify all aspirants into graduates who will be able to practice the art in different settings.
As per the Indian Nursing Council the programme will be specifically designed by the college or university that will offer the programme but all educational institutions will have to abide by the regulations specified by INC. As per the guidelines, the students will pursue foundational, core and elective courses.
The programme has been designed to train the students in generalistic nursing practices. Students will be trained and educated on the processes of wellness, illness & disease management, health promotion along with the taking of the dying as part of becoming a nurse. The programme focuses on mastering the various competencies of the field.
Candidates, who are qualified HSC with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and (Theory and Practical), from any State/Central/International board, are eligible for admission.

FON lab is a well-equipped elementary lab aimed to demonstrate competency in performing basic nursing skills for individuals with common health alterations.There are adequate multipurpose mannequins in which students can practice the various nursing procedures before actual experience at the hospital. The lab provides a variety of AV Aids which is fundamental to their learning and is spacious enough so that we can perform a simulation to enhance the bridging between theory and practice.
The preclinical science lab provides an opportunity for the students to understand the various structures and functions of the human body. It enables learning using articulated skeletons, torsos, bones, models, Audiovisual aids, etc. These models and specimens serve as real organs for a beginner in nursing and provide comprehensive learning about the human body.
The nutrition lab facilitates the students to develop skills in preparing nutritious and therapeutic diets at different stages of life and their application tothe practice of nursing. The lab is well established with all facilities including gas stoves, refrigerators and a variety of articles and vessels for the development of skills in the preparation of different food items in health and sickness.
Our CHN lab is properly equipped and well furnished with healthy environment of learning for the graduates and post-graduates so as to provide basic care in terms of primary health care for the people. The lab is arranged in such a manner that the student of the nursing program can practice the procedure to improve their skill and make effective AV aids needed for the public and related to community health concerns. CHN lab is therefore an extension and expansion of the ideal guidelines of community health nursing.
The Skills Laboratories are a well-established learning environment for all levels of nursing students within the institute of Nursing. An Advanced Nursing Lab aims at teaching and training students the essentials of advanced nursing skills. The lab helps use skills taught by repeated practice on mannequins. It is also the venue for conducting the life supporting courses as well as the advanced cardiac life support courses.
Set up with a vision to provide a preliminary effective experience in taking care of mother and new-born. It is equipped with birthing simulators, Obstetric manikins, Pelvis, Foetal skull, specimens, obstetrical instruments, 3D models, and charts. This helps the undergraduates and postgraduate students to acquire knowledge and skills in rendering nursing care to normal and high-risk women during antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal periods in hospital and community settings.
Child health nursing is the best simulative place to learn practical aspects before actual clinical experience. The lab is adequately equipped with pediatric and CPR manikins, physical assessment articles, models, and charts, and AV aids for learning and conducting procedures by students. Child Health Lab empowers the undergraduates to be competent. The students are motivated to participate in exhibitions, rallies, and educational sessions on various topics like breastfeeding, new born care, and prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases and organize educational programs at hospitals, community and schools.
AV – Aids Rooms are fully equipped with various electronic devices for the effective teaching & learning such as Smart LCD projectors, Over Head projectors, T.V, C.D Player, Tape recorder etc. We also have various Teaching materials & Demo materials, which helps in teaching and practical classes. Provide hi-tech educational media to support the teaching learning activities of students.
Computer develops basic understanding of uses of computer and its Applications in nursing. Computer lab is fully air-conditioned and run by efficient and qualified staffs. It has Broad band internet connection. It is well ventilated with computers are available for training and practice purpose.
